Collective Homeware Haul

Homeware Haul 2014 Dunelm Mill

Hello lovelies! Today I have my first ever homeware haul for you! As you'll probably know from my last two wishlist posts I am completely obsessed with all cute homeware items and during the past few months I've been buying a fair few bits. As I've mentioned before, we're currently re-decorating our living room, so I've been searching for various different pieces and other things kept catching my eye, so I now have lots of things to show you!

First up is this white wooden calendar! I really love these type of calendars, I've wanted one for such a long time now and whilst I was having a little browse on eBay, I saw this one and fell in love right away!

I'm obsessed with white vintage looking clocks on the mantel piece and I saw so many lovely ones on eBay that look so much more expensive than this one, but as I didn't want to pay too much, I just picked this one up from the Range and it was only £3.99!

Next up is this really cute Jug with a lovely simple heart detailing on the front. I really love making pots of tea and having a tiny little jug is perfect for the milk and as it was only £1.99 I couldn't say no! I also picked up some Salt and Pepper Shakers with the same heart print on the front and they were £2.99!

I think I mentioned in my recent wishlist post that I am obsessed with Dunelm Mill and at the moment, they have the most gorgeous collection in called 'Candy Rose'. I literally want EVERYTHING, so I did get a fair few things, but there are so many things I would still like to get! The first thing I picked up is the 'Floral Sandwich Tray' I feel like I always buy so many of these and they always seem to vanish... WHERE DO THEY GO? I love the print of this and it was only £1.99. Next is the super adorable 'Floral Round Plate', all the Candy Rose plates are so so pretty and I would definitely get them all, but I just limited myself to one! I also picked up a Teapot and a Teacup.. My teapot was really old and I think my mum threw it away without even asking if I still wanted it. This one is so so pretty and was only £8.99! I also picked up some coasters for the living room we're currently redecorating (it feels like it's taking FOREVER) and the beautiful floral jug that I featured in a recent wishlist!

Next up is another jug, but I'm going to use it as a vase and it currently has these pink artificial peonies in that were only £3.87 from eBay!

As I mentioned in my recent wishlist, I've been really wanting to purchase a cake stand. I've had two before, the first one I had, I bought in a cute little shop in Brighton. It was pink with really cute heart detailing all the way round and I used it to store my Lush products on it, but after a while the products started staining the cake stand which was annoying! The second one I got was from The Range. It's a cream wire cake stand with roses on the edges and I still love it, but I use it to store all my Yankee Candles. I really wanted a floral china cake stand to actually use for cake this time haha! I couldn't justify spending £50 on a Royal Albert one, but I found this really lovely one from eBay and it was only £20! I think I'm now all set to have afternoon tea, bloggers tea party anyone?

I kept seeing these on Instagram and completely fell in love, so I went on a mission to find where they were from and found them on eBay for £8.99. When it arrived you could see a B&M label had been ripped off, so you can imagine how much cheaper they would be in there. So if you do want one maybe have a look in there first!

I am completely obsessed with wicker hearts and I think we're going to end up having one in every room, oops! I bought this one from eBay for £3.50 and I think it will probably go in the living room!

Until recently I'd never shopped at and since then we have bought quite a few things. Most of the items are pretty big furniture items, so aren't featured in this haul, but one of the items was this Camper Van Cushion! My Grandad used to own a blue Camper Van and every year I always bought him something Camper Van related for Christmas. When I saw this, it made me think of him right away and although he's not here, I thought I'd buy it in memory of him!

We also ended up buying a few new bits for the bathroom. I completely fell in love with the 'Vintage Heart Collection' from Dunelm Mill and we got a few things from the collection, but I thought I'd just show you the toilet roll holder, because they're all pretty awkward to take a picture of! I also picked up this cute little heart sign and this little tumbler!

The kitchen section of this haul is very pink I've noticed! The kitchen isn't just pink, it's pastel..I promise! First I went and finally picked up the beautiful Mason & Cash mixing bowl from Dunelm Mill... It's SO big, I literally cannot believe how much bigger it is in comparison to my old mixing bowl haha! Also from Dunelm Mill I picked up a mixer, I've wanted something like this for a while because I think it will make baking alot quicker and alot more enjoyable.. They also had the KitchenAid style mixers, but as this one was cheaper I got this! We've also been in need of buying a few new pans and I saw some pastel ones on Amazon.. It was a choice between pink and mint and I went with pink in the end!

And lastly is yet another thing from Dunelm Mill! I am obsessed, I'll admit! I've been need of a laundry basket for a while because my room is starting to resemble a floordrobe. All the laundry baskets I've had before have been broken within days thanks to my cats, but this does feel a lot more sturdy and it was only £20. They also have other cute baskets, which come in different sizes and I've seen a few girls use these to store some of their makeup, so I think I might have to get one of those too! I love the white and the floral pattern together, it's soo pretty. (The birdcage candle holder isn't new, but it's from The Range, if anyone was wondering)

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed my first homeware haul! Are you obsessed with cute homeware items too?

What's On My Face #4

Hello lovelies! Today I'm back with another post showing you what makeup I've been loving wearing recently!

As always, I start by priming my face with the L'Oreal Paris Lumi Magique Primer and I always either buff this in using the Real Techniques Buffing Brush or I just use my fingers. I then apply my holy grail foundation which is the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation in the shade 'Rose Ivory'. For my eyebrows I currently fill them in with the Quite Natural Paintpot from MAC using the MAC 266 Brush

And then I go onto eyes! First I apply Cork to my crease and blend it out using a MAC 217, next I apply Satin Taupe all over the lid and then I also apply a little bit of the shade 'Blackout' from the Naked 2 Palette to the outer corner of my eye and I'll blend it all together using a MAC 217For mascara I'm really loving the YSL Shocking Mascara!

After my eyes are done, I apply concealer! As usual, I always reach for the MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NW20. I'm obsessed with this concealer, if you're looking for a concealer that is full coverage, but still looks really natural, this is perfect for you! I always apply this with the Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush, it blends concealer so beautifully! And then I apply all my powder products! For face powder I just use anything I have handy! For bronzer I'm still really loving the Bourjois Délice de Soleil Bronzing Powder, I apply this all over my face because my face is so so pale compared to the rest of my body haha! Next I apply blush, as I said in my recent favourites post I'm obsessed with the Too faced Sweetheart Blush in the shade Candy Glow, I apply this to my cheeks and blend it up and then I apply the MAC Soft & Gentle MSF.

And lastly for my lip products! Firstly, I lined my lips with the Topshop Lip Liner in the shade Ceramic and for lipstick I used the YSL Rouge Volupté Shine in the shade 08 Pink in Confidence, and finishing it off I applied the Tanya Burr Lip Gloss in the shade Picnic in the Park! I always usually go for a bold lip, but this was a nice change!

P.S - I just HAD to add the picture of me and Fred, he's too cute and this was the first time I attempted a milk maid braid!

What Makeup have you been loving wearing recently?

The Glamour Beauty Power List Box

Latest in Beauty Glamour Power List Box

Beauty boxes are something I used to really love and I was subscribed to Glossybox and Carmine for a while, but I started feeling like they were getting slightly disappointing and I felt like I would rather save the money and spend it on products I knew I would love.. Since then I haven't really looked back, but I've always been so intrigued by the Glamour beauty boxes in collaboration with Latest in Beauty. I recently received an email from Latest in Beauty telling me all about the new Glamour Beauty Box and all the products seemed like something I would actually like to try. The box has a total value of £83.47 and as it was only £15.99 I couldn't say no!

The box contains:
 Maybelline Stripped Nudes Lipstick (24ml)
 Laura Mercier Foundation Primer (30ml)
Eyeko Eye Make Up Remover Wipes (10 wipes)
Bourjois 1 Second Volume Mascara (12ml)
Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish and Muslin Cloth (30ml)
James Read Sleep Mask Tan (25ml)
Philip Kingsley Daily Damage Defence Spray (60ml)
1 Year Digital Glamour Magazine Subscription

Annoyingly my box didn't come with the card that gives you the product details or the Glamour Magazine Subscription, but I have emailed them and they said they would send it out asap!

Maybelline Stripped Nudes Lipstick in the shade 'Sultry Sand' | £6.99 | Link
I'm not really fussy when it comes to lipsticks and will usually wear most shades, but this one just isn't for me. It's a classic case of concealer lips and I actually look a bit corpse like when wearing this. I did swatch it, but as it's only a shade lighter than my skin tone, you can hardly even see it! The formula is lovely and creamy though, I wish I could of had a darker shade!

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer | £18.50
This is the product I'm most looking forward to trying and if i'm honest, it's one of the main reasons I decided to get the box! As I've mentioned many times before, I love love love the Silk Creme Foundation from Laura Mercier and I've heard so many amazing things about the primer, so I cannot wait to try them both together!

Eyeko Eye Make Up Remover Wipes | £6.00 | Link
I don't tend to use makeup wipes now, but I've heard these do leave the lashes feeling lovely and conditioned. I'll probably try and use these when I'm having one of my lazy skincare days!

Bourjois 1 Second Volume Mascara | £9.99 | Link
Bourjois claims this gives the lashes major volume in a second, I've heard so many good things about this mascara and it's been on my wishlist for a while now, but I just never got round to actually purchasing it, so i'm so excited to finally try it!

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish | £5.50 | Link
I never stop hearing about how amazing this is and so many people claim that this is their holy grail cleanser. I've wanted to try it for a couple of years now, but for some reason I never do. I'm SOO excited to finally try it! I'll definitely review this soon and do a comparison to the Superdrug version!

James Read Sleep Mask Tan | £25.00
As my face is always so much more pale than my body, I'm always up for trying new tanning products and this sounds like a dream product. It has the hydrating effects of a facial, but it also has a dose of self tan in there too! You're supposed to apply it just before you go to sleep and you wake up with a subtle, but lovely sun kissed glow, sounds perfect!

Philip Kingsley Daily Damage Defence Spray | £6.95 | Link
As I have pretty long hair I love trying different products to try and keep it in the best condition I can and I've wanted to try something from Philip Kingsley since I heard all the amazing things about the elasticizer. This is a leave in conditioning spray that protects your hair against heat, styling, breakages and the weather. I've been in need of a product like this for a while and I cannot wait to try it! I also love that you can spray it into wet hair to detangle the hair and give it a little bit of shine!

Overall, I am really impressed with this box and apart from the lipstick I think I'm going to love all these products. I'll probably review a couple of items from this box, but if there is anything in particular you'd like to see let me know! As always, Thank you for reading :)

Have you ever tried one of the Glamour boxes? Are you a fan of beauty boxes?

Book Review | Gone Girl

Gone Girl Book Review Blog
Gone Girl Book Review Blog
Gone Girl | Kindle Edition | £2.99 | Link

Hello lovelies! Today I'm back with my second book review! I've been wanting to read Gone Girl for such a long time now, as I always hear so many people rave about how amazing it is, so I finally went ahead and bought it! Gone Girl follows Nick and Amy Dunne on their fifth wedding anniversary, but when Nick returns home from work, he finds the front door is already open and there's no sign of Amy anywhere. Every year for their anniversary Amy organizes a treasure hunt for Nick, which includes personal messages that help him find each clue, which leads him to find his 'main present'. When he begins to follow the clues this year, he believes Amy is trying to fix their very broken marriage, but is it too late?

The book alternates between Nick and Amy's point of view starting with Nick on the day Amy went missing and Amy's diary entries dating back to the first time she met Nick which gradually works up to the present day. As Nick starts to try and piece together the evidence surrounding his wife's disappearance, he realizes everyone will start to point the finger at him. It's another one of those mysterious books, that builds up so much suspense, so you cannot help but keep turning page after page to find out what really happened! I really loved this book and really enjoyed reading it, but I really didn't like the end. I won't spoil it, but if you've read it, let me know what you thought to the end?

The movie of Gone Girl comes out at the start of October and I cannot wait to watch it and see how it compares to the book!

“You drink a little too much and try a little too hard. And you go home to a cold bed and think, That was fine. And your life is a long line of fine.”

“There's a difference between really loving someone and loving the idea of her.”

“My mother had always told her kids: if you're about to do something, and you want to know if it's a bad idea, imagine seeing it printed in the paper for all the world to see.”

“A lot of people lacked that gift: knowing when to fuck off.”

“Men always say that as the defining compliment, don’t they? She’s a cool girl. Being the Cool Girl means I am a hot, brilliant, funny woman who adores football, poker, dirty jokes, and burping, who plays video games, drinks cheap beer, loves threesomes and anal sex, and jams hot dogs and hamburgers into her mouth like she’s hosting the world’s biggest culinary gang bang while somehow maintaining a size 2, because Cool Girls are above all hot. Hot and understanding. Cool Girls never get angry; they only smile in a chagrined, loving manner and let their men do whatever they want. Go ahead, shit on me, I don’t mind, I’m the Cool Girl. Men actually think this girl exists. Maybe they’re fooled because so many women are willing to pretend to be this girl. For a long time Cool Girl offended me. I used to see men – friends, coworkers, strangers – giddy over these awful pretender women, and I’d want to sit these men down and calmly say: You are not dating a woman, you are dating a woman who has watched too many movies written by socially awkward men who’d like to believe that this kind of woman exists and might kiss them. I’d want to grab the poor guy by his lapels or messenger bag and say: The bitch doesn’t really love chili dogs that much – no one loves chili dogs that much! And the Cool Girls are even more pathetic: They’re not even pretending to be the woman they want to be, they’re pretending to be the woman a man wants them to be. Oh, and if you’re not a Cool Girl, I beg you not to believe that your man doesn’t want the Cool Girl. It may be a slightly different version – maybe he’s a vegetarian, so Cool Girl loves seitan and is great with dogs; or maybe he’s a hipster artist, so Cool Girl is a tattooed, bespectacled nerd who loves comics. There are variations to the window dressing, but believe me, he wants Cool Girl, who is basically the girl who likes every fucking thing he likes and doesn’t ever complain. (How do you know you’re not Cool Girl? Because he says things like: “I like strong women.” If he says that to you, he will at some point fuck someone else. Because “I like strong women” is code for “I hate strong women.”)”

Thank you so much for reading! If you've read Gone Girl, what did you think? Also let me know what you've been reading recently, anything you'd recommend?
