Life Lessons Cristina Yang Taught Us

Anyone that knows me, knows how much I love Grey's Anatomy and Cristina Yang will forever be my queen - here are 15 things she taught us!

001: Priorities are everything and food should ALWAYS be pretty high on your list.

002: Research is key.

003: The importance of knowing that beauty isn't everything. Fall in love with someone who loves you for you - not just your looks.

004: Stop always putting everyone else's needs before your own.

005: Never settle and accept less than you deserve.

006: Or be afraid to speak your mind and be honest.

007: Don't let anyone get in the way of what you want.

008: Learn from the past - be better not bitter.

009: Don't let anyone change you.

010: Stop moping about your problems, try and fix them.

011: It's okay not to be okay.

012: Life is hard, but you'll always get through it.

013: Time is the biggest healer.

014: The most important lesson. Find a person - someone that accepts all your flaws and still loves you unconditionally. Someone that is your soul mate - everyone needs a person.

015: And lastly, when life get tough - dancing it out, always helps.

I love you, Cristina.

Lush Cosmetics Big Blue Bath Bomb

Lush Cosmetics Big Blue Bath Bomb Blog Review

I love Lush Cosmetics and whenever I'm in a Lush store, I can't help but purchase a few new bath bombs. I love trying different ones and I rarely find one that I don't like. I recently tried Big Blue for the first time, so I thought I'd tell you my thoughts!

"This calming bath bomb evokes a summer’s day at the seaside: perfect for drifting off. Big Blue’s key ingredient is a type of kelp called arame seaweed, which softens in your hot bath water. Arame is rich in vitamins and minerals including iodine, which helps to regulate the metabolism. Sea salt softens the skin, helping to remove dead skin cells, while lemon oil clears the mind and, like lavender oil, is antiseptic and cleansing."

When I first heard about Big Blue, it seemed lovely - with lemon oil to refresh the body and mind, lavender oil to make you feel relaxed and seaweed and sea salt to gently exfoliate and soften the skin. However, I just didn't love it! The scent was really lovely and refreshing, and it did fizz away pretty quickly, which is good if you don't like to wait for ages for the bath bomb to be completely dissolved. It transforms your bath water into the most beautiful turquoise shade and it does leave your skin feeling super soft, but the seaweed is horrible! It becomes very slimy and sitting in a bath with slimy seaweed touching you isn't the most enjoyable experience, I'll be honest. And when I was draining the bath water none of the seaweed would go down the plughole, so you had to scoop it all out by hand, which was also pretty horrible!

Overall, I would not recommend this. The smell was nice and I loved how soft it left my skin feeling, but the seaweed was actually pretty terrifying! This is probably the most authentic bath bomb to use if you want a real "mermaid bath" but I personally wouldn't purchase it again.

20 Things To Remember

001: Life is short, always buy the shoes.

002: You are enough and someone out there loves you.

003: Makeup is great, but not essential.

004: Bad haircut? It's not the end of the world. Hair does grow.

005: When all hope is lost - have a bubble bath, make a cup of tea and watch a chick flick (or read a good book.) Your worries will feel a little bit lighter, promise.

006: Drink more water. Keeping hydrated helps SO many things, like achieving clear skin!

007: Don't compare your beginning to someone else's middle.

008: Everything is temporary - that bad job that sucks the life out of you, school and heartbreak. It will all be okay in the end.

009: What Susie says of Sally, says more of Susie than it does of Sally.

010: No current life plan? It's okay - At 23, JK Rowling was broke. Tina Fey was working at the Y.M.C.A. Oprah had just gotten fired from her first job as a TV reporter and Walt Disney had declared bankruptcy.

011: Money doesn't buy happiness. It's a temporary fix.

012: Bad day? Listening to all of those sad songs on repeat never makes anything better, ever.

013: Stop comparing your life to those on Instagram. They only show you filtered snippets, it's not real. Take a night off from Social Media if you ever feel like this, you'll feel SO much better for it.

014: Squeezing spots is never a good idea and you always end up regretting it.

015: Believe you can and you're halfway there.

016: Change is usually a good thing. Say yes to new things.

017: Eating healthy and exercising is amazing, but don't forget you can still indulge and treat yourself once in a while. Moderation is a good thing.

018: When one door closes, another one opens. Stop worrying.

019: Nothing good ever comes from having a negative outlook.

020: And lastly, always remember that it's okay not to be okay. Never let anyone make you feel weak by not being okay. Surround yourself with positive people and you'll be okay in no time.

The Netflix Tag

The Netflix Tag 2015

001: What are your favourite series' to watch on Netflix?
Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars, Friends, American Horror Story, Orange is the New Black, Skins, One Tree Hill, Bates Motel and Grey's Anatomy.

002: What are you currently watching on Netflix?
I'm currently making my way through Grey's Anatomy and I've just started season 8!

003: If you could have any series, old or new, put on Netflix; what would it be?
Probably TV shows that I used to watch when I was younger like That's So Raven, Lizzie McGuire, The Worst Witch, Sex and the City, Sabrina The Teenage Witch and The O.C!

004: What is your one pet peeve about Netflix?
When you're having a good binge-watching session and it asks you if you're still watching - of course I am, did I get my life together in the last two hours? NOPE And also when it says "Sorry, we're having trouble playing this title" Literally the worst.

005: What are your essentials for a perfect night in with Netflix?
I watch Netflix a lot, so I don't really have any to be honest, but when having a movie night or if I'm just binge-watching a TV show - a blanket and snacks are definitely essential!

006: Recommend one series or film for someone else?
Pretty much every one of these posts I've read, have all recommended Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars - I agree and definitely would recommend both, but for the purpose of the blog post I thought I'd say something different and recommend Grey's Anatomy! I feel like so many people overlook it because they see it as just "a medical programme" but it's seriously such a good show! I didn't think I'd like it to be honest, but I gave it a go and ended up binge watching 7 seasons SO QUICKLY! It also has the best/most relatable quotes, so I definitely think I'll have a Grey's Anatomy GIF post up in the future!

007: Name of series on Netflix that you keep meaning to watch, but haven't.
The Vampire Diaries and Dexter. I'm always hearing amazing things about both shows, but I just haven't got round to watching either yet!

008: Did you discover anything awesome because of Netflix?
Grey's Anatomy!! I am such a Grey's Anatomy fan girl, I'm sorry!

And that's all the questions! What's your favourite thing to watch on Netflix? If you have any recommendations, please let me know!

Philosophy Melon Daiquiri Shower Gel

Philosophy Melon Daiquiri Shower Gel Blog Review

Back in January, I picked up "The Classics" Philosophy gift set which contains three mini sized shower gels - Vanilla Birthday Cake, Melon Daiquiri and Raspberry Sorbet. Every Christmas and birthday, I always end up receiving so many bath products, so I still hadn't got round to using these and as it's summer I thought it would be the perfect time to use Melon Daiquiri because it smells just like watermelon, which is one of my favourite summery scents!

The packaging is pretty simplistic, but I actually really like it! They have flip-open lids and I love the fact that they always have a recipe on the front to match the particular scent. They're described as being a three in one product and can be used as a shampoo, shower gel or bubble bath. Personally, I've only used it as a shower gel so far - I never find multipurpose products like this to work that well as a shampoo or bubble bath. In terms of the formula, it's pretty thick and creamy and I love that a little amount of product goes a long way. It lathers up really well and leaves the skin feeling so soft and I sometimes feel like I don't even need to use a moisturiser after using this!

Overall, I really love Philosophy shower gels and even though they are pretty expensive at £14.50 for the full size, they are always so lovely and feel so luxurious and I've never actually tried a product from Philosophy that has disappointed me!

Have you tried anything from Philosophy?

15 Problems You Face When You Have Long Hair

001: The amount of time it takes to wash your hair and then let it dry. Nobody's got time for that!

002: You go through way too much conditioner. I swear I need a new bottle every two weeks!

003: And you find your hair everywhere. How do I even have SO MUCH hair left?

004: The panic you feel when you make the horrible realisation that you've left the house without a hair tie.

005: Brushing your hair is one hell of a workout.

006: And so is putting it up in a hair tie.

007: You can no longer wear lipgloss. Unless you want your hair constantly attached to your lips.

008: Actual strangers touching your hair to see if it's 'real'. The creepiest experience of my life to date.

009: The struggle of always wanting your hair curled, but it taking 75674803409 years to do so.

010: Sleeping with your hair down is never an option. You wake up half strangled and all of the knots possible.

011: Oh and the knots. Detangling all of the knots is the most painful and time consuming task there is!

012: Being tickled by your own hair and having a full on bitch fit because you convince yourself it's a massive spider.

013: In order to get all of your hair out of your face, you end up wearing it up so much. You start to ask yourself why you don't just get it cut...

014: You develop an actual fear of going to the hairdressers. Which makes you always put off getting it cut. Which part of "Just a trim" do they not understand?

015: Long hair & a gust of wind = hair errywhere.

You begin to question - it is even worth it? YEP, I need that long, princess hair!

Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream

IMG_2588 IMG_2594IMG_2620IMG_2614

Unlike most beauty bloggers, I don't have a huge collection of different fragrances, but I do love all of the Marc Jacobs scents. I own a few and I'm always so excited when a new fragrance is launched. All beauty lovers will already be aware of the Boots points card. I started saving up my points for quite a while with the intention of purchasing a new fragrance and I finally had enough points saved when I was in Brighton back in January. I knew I definitely wanted to purchase a new MJ fragrance and in the end I went with Daisy Dream!

Daisy Dream was first launched last summer and was inspired by blue skies and daisies. It's a light and airy scent, that is both floral and fruity. The top notes consist of blackberry, grapefruit and pear. With heart notes of jasmine, lychee and blue wisteria, whilst the base notes are a combination of coconut water, musks and white woods.

Marc Jacobs fragrances always come in the most beautiful bottles ever, but Daisy Dream is definitely my favourite of them all and my favourite out of all the fragrances I own too! I love the pretty white daisies and the gold detailing - it looks so pretty sitting on my dressing table!

Overall, this has been my go-to fragrance this summer. It's the perfect combination of a light, fruity/floral scent and I feel like it would suit a wide age range of woman. It doesn't have amazing longevity, which means you do sometimes have to apply more throughout the day, but that doesn't bother me too much!

Daisy Dream is available in 30ml, 50ml and 100ml.

Which is your favourite Marc Jacobs fragrance?

047: I have no clue anymore

050: This show, man.
051: So, it was CeCe that hit Ali over the head with a rock.
052: After all this time, we finally know who hit Ali on that night.
053: Oh, she thought it was Bethany.
054: OH GOD. MONA!
056: She thought she was Ali

057: See, if they hadn't all gone and bought that same yellow top, there would be no confusion!
059: I can't deal with all of this

060: Ali and CeCe were Redcoat
061: Who was the other one? WHO
063: Oh my god. I knew she couldn't be trusted!

071: Told you she was crafty
072: Ugh, I hate Sara so much. Poor Emily :(
073: OH MY GOD
074: Emily just HIT Sara

076: That was the best part of the whole episode, I'll be honest.
077: Now they're on the roof
078: There's always a roof scene in this programme
079: But why?
080: Now CeCe might jump off the roof....
081: OH
082: She didn't go through with it
083: GAME OVER - Is this it? IT CAN'T BE
084: They're all leaving for college
085: Am I the only one finding this really emotional?
086: I have actual tears in my eyes
087: "Saying goodbye is a lot harder than I thought it would be."

088: "How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard."

091: They look so good
092: But I want them to be young again
093: Goosebumps. I have goosebumps.
