Five Films To Watch This Christmas

It's now December, which means it's finally appropriate to start talking about Christmas, right? Well, I say that, but my first festive themed blog post was all the way back in September, oops!  The evenings are getting a lot colder now, the leaves have fallen off the trees and winter definitely feels like it's here and my absolute favourite way to spend my evenings during the winter time is to snuggle up, light festive candles and watch Christmas films so I'm really excited to team up with Panasonic to share a list of my favourite films to watch this festive season and also my favourite quotes from each film because if you're a regular reader of my blog, you'll know just how much I adore film quotes!

I currently watch most things on my laptop as I don't own a smart TV but I'm desperate to get my hands on one that is 4k  such as the Oled TV Panasonic, I feel like the upgrade in quality would be insane and would also make watching apps like Netflix and YouTube so much easier.

Starring: Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, Jack Black.

Favourite quote:
"I understand feeling as small and as insignificant as humanly possible. And how it can actually ache in places you didn't know you had inside you. And it doesn't matter how many new haircuts you get, or gyms you join, or how many glasses of chardonnay you drink with your girlfriends... you still go to bed every night going over every detail and wonder what you did wrong or how you could have misunderstood. And how in the hell for that brief moment you could think that you were that happy. And sometimes you can even convince yourself that he'll see the light and show up at your door. And after all that, however long all that may be, you'll go somewhere new. And you'll meet people who make you feel worthwhile again. And little pieces of your soul will finally come back. And all that fuzzy stuff, those years of your life that you wasted, that will eventually begin to fade."

Starring: Dervla Kirwan, Elizabeth Earl, Holly Earl, Peter Capaldi.

Favourite quote:
"So we all got what we wanted in the end, though what we really wanted we had all along, we had each other and that's what Christmas is all about really."

Starring: Jim Carrey, Taylor Momsen, Christine Baranski.
Favourite quote:
"Maybe Christmas doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas... He thought...means a little bit more."

Starring: Emma Thompson, Keira Knightley, Alan Rickman.
Favourite quote:
"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often, it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know, none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."

Starring: Tom Hanks, Leslie Zemeckis, Eddie Deezen, Nona Gaye.

Favourite quote:
"Seeing is believing, but sometimes the most real things in the world are the things we can't see."

I hope you enjoyed this post, what are your favourite films to watch around the Christmas time?
