My Mental Health Story, So Far... *TW*

A blog series that I have wanted to start for years is one on mental health and self-care. I always knew that I wanted the first post to be the story of my mental health journey, but I felt like it was a little bit irresponsible to share my story when I wasn't receiving any professional help, but as I have finally made the first steps towards recovery, I thought it was time. I'm going to be completely honest and raw so obviously, I will talk about things that may trigger certain individuals.

The Shape of Water (2017) Review

Since becoming a huge fan of film, I've heard so many great things about Guillermo del Toro and in particular, his film Pan's Labyrinth. For some reason though, I have just never got round to watching it. Shocking, right? I think in terms of film and their genres, I always used to stick with what I knew and not give certain films a chance at all. I've always kind of sat on the fence a little bit when it comes to fantasy films because I believe that they are very hit or miss, but after hearing so many great things about The Shape of Water, I decided I had to take myself on a date to the cinema and watch it. I also am that person that likes to try and watch as many Academy Award-nominated films before the big day and The Shape of Water has done exceptionally well, scoring thirteen nominations, which is only one short of La La Land's huge nomination victory last year.

"It doesn't get more personal than 'Shape of Water' for me. I am the proudest of it. It's my favourite movie that I've done."

5 Films To Watch When You Need A Good Cry

Happy Valentine's Day! I feel like today is one of those events that you'll either love, absolutely dread or maybe it won't even phase you at all. Personally, it's never been something that I've enjoyed whether I'm in a relationship or not. This is actually my first Valentine's Day that I've been single in 6 years and while I'm not going to be wined and dined, that's okay. I feel like it is acceptable to feel a little bit sorry for yourself today though and pop on a film that will make you sob for an hour or two. It's allowed, right? Here are my top five that are perfect for just that.
